Setting

Le Moulinage Chez Soie 'is a small-scale holiday resort in the heart of the natural park 'Parc naturel de Monts d'Ardèche' in the heart of the Ardèche.

The moulinage (an old silk spinning mill) is located on the banks of the Auzène, a mountain stream used many years ago to power the silk factory. Remnants of machinery are still present in the basement of the building. In the 19th century there were about 500 of these moulinages in the Ardèche, known for its silk culture and mulberry trees, whose leaves were the food for the silk caterpillars. During the Second World War, the development of cheaper materials, such as rayon and nylon, put an end to the flourishing silk production.
The old, large building has been converted into 5 spacious gîtes, with their own bathroom,  living space, bedrooms and kitchen: Papillon and Bobine (120 m² each), Filature (100 m²), Cocon (40 m²) and Atelier vôuté (250 m²). The thick walls of the building keep the gîtes pleasantly cool in the summer and the many large windows create a light and cheerful atmosphere.

We focus on peace and nature lovers.
Families, cyclists and hikers will find what they are looking for.
Ideal for trainings, retreats and gatherings.
